arTees Island Designs wins 3rd
Straight SGIA Golden Image Award
Hyannis, MA, October, 2004 - When the best screen
printers in the world competed in the Specialty Graphic
Imaging Association's Golden Image Award this fall,
arTees Island Designs, Hyannis, Massachusetts, stood
out for the third
straight year, leaving with the Gold
Medal Award of Excellence for true process color
printing on textiles.
"I am very proud of our master printer and the rest of
the arTees team,” said Steve Gayner, owner,
arTees Island Designs." Our work
was compared to the best in the world - and we came out
on top for the third
year in a row.
That's almost unprecedented when you
think of how good the competition is. And, once again,
we have demonstrated
our expertise in our specialty area
- printing photographs on textiles."
More than 100 companies from around the world entered
the competition, submitting over 930 entries in 42
product categories. The competition was conducted during
SGIA '04 Convention & Exposition (Minneapolis,
Minnesota, USA, October 6-9, 2004). "The judges had a
very difficult time this year, because of the extremely
high overall quality of the work. In virtually every
category, the entries were so good that choosing the
winners was a real challenge," said one of the judges.
The Golden Image is a technical competition, excluding
aesthetic issues from the judging process. Prints were
judged on the level of difficulty and quality of
execution.
"Winning the Gold for true process color printing on
textiles puts arTees among the top screen
printers in the world in terms of quality and
capability. The ability to consistently print such high
quality products indicates that arTees is
an expert at controlling the many variables involved in
screen-printing. They are true masters of the trade."

arTees Island Designs is a provider of custom and
